St. Patrick’s Day

Amanhã, dia 17 de março, é dia de St. Patrick, santo patrono da Irlanda. Devido St. Patrick usar o trevo de três folhas para representar a Sagrada Trindade, a cor oficial do feriado é a verde.

O feriado religioso celebra a cultura irlandesa em geral e como tradição, ocorre a famosa parada de St. Patrick na 5th Avenue. O parada tem inicio às 11am em frente à catedral de St. Patrick (5th Ave x 50th St) e vai até o museu Metropolitan (5th Ave x 80th St), onde termina por volta das 3pm.

Além da parada, muitos restaurantes, clubs, bares e claro, pubs também celebram o dia de St. Patrick com menus, drinks e festas exclusivas.

Vista-se de verde amanhã, aproveite a parada e divirta-se nas festas!

Tomorrow, March 17th, it is St. Patrick’s Day, patron saint of Ireland. Because St. Patrick used the shamrock (a three-leaved plant) to represent the Holy Trinity, the holiday’s official color is green.

The religious holiday celebrates the Irish culture in general and as a tradition, it happens the famouse st. Patrick’s Day Parade at 5th Avenue. The parade starts in front of St. Patrick’s cathedral (5th Ave x 50th St) and it goes toward Metropolitan museum (5th Ave x 80th St), where it ends around 3pm.

Besides the parade, lots of restaurants, clubs, bars and of course, pubs also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with exclusive menus, drinks and parties.
